Camptown Ladies sing this song...Doo-Dah Doo-Dah

...Or something like that.

Something I didn't mention yet. Emilee left with mom last night to spend a couple of days down in Newport Beach with some aunts and cousins. Surf, sun, BBQ, and your bestest girl cousins - does it get any better?? Not when you're 13! So they've landed safely down there and will enjoy hanging out and boogie boarding at the beach today and tomorrow. Life is a beotch I tell you! Fernie and I were invited, but we could just not afford it for Fernie to take two days off work (or even ONE for that matter!)

Then, Friday morning, Tia Sunny will take Rachael and Emilee up to the church and the girls will leave for the long awaited and much anticipated Christian summer camp! Both girls are simply giddy with excitement! Since Tia, Rob and Rachie moved downto Indio (2+hrs from here), the girls don't get to spend much time together. They are both on fire for the Lord and so this trip is ideal for all! Emilee worked her butt off to get them both there financially (see previous Blessings posts parts Two and Three ) - she is a star!

So Fernie and I are having a mini vacation of our own at mom's while she's gone.
PROS:
*several degrees cooler every day and night - about 95 here today, 102ish at our place
*central air available (although I only turned it on about an hour before Fernie got home so
the house would be refreshing when he got in! I'm too cheap to run it if it's just me!)
*we are only 5-7 minutes from Fernie's work, so he can leave 20+ minutes later and is here
by 3:07!
*patio to read, do a crossword or relax on with a view of the beautiful green golf course
*wonderfully comfortable beds in which to sleep - I really didn't know that sleeping could
be done without pain anymore! Fernie and I were amazed this morning!
*Internet available!
CONS:
*no contact - mom has no house phone and we have no cell phones. I'd really like to talk to
Emilee while she's gone, but where they're staying, there is only dial up available and I
know that none of them will be able to 'check in real quickly' while they're gone! My aunt
Margaret did email me earlier from her work down there to let me know they'd arrived
safely last night, but we're on our own now.
*I can't babysit my garden from here and am hoping that Kaela remembers to water!

...cons are pretty minor, considering...so we'll take one for the team...and I bet we'll live! LOL. GO US!

PEACE!
