Blessings - part 2

This is Emilee (and gramma in the background) at her lemonade stand.

note: you cannot see it clearly in this picture, but it actually says please a couple times on her sign - it looks a little rude and bossy in this picture at first glance.

About a week and a half ago, an older gentleman came up to buy some lemonade. He was asking Emilee if she was excited about camp and some random stuff about what she enjoys most. We told him that she had paid for herself and was now raising $$ to help sponsor someone else...as she was sponsored last year. He was telling her what a great example she was to others and that we should be very proud (and we are indeed!). He then pulled out a HUNDRED DOLLAR BILL and said "Here's a little something to help out your efforts some more". I was in awe. We all thanked him profusely and God Bless. And when he walked out to tee off, mom, Emi and I joined hands and Emi led us in another beautiful prayer of thanks and blessings for this newest, most generous stranger! This was the second man in three weeks to donate $100! Unbelievable!

Then, last Monday there was a family of 4 - mom, dad and two older teenaged boys. They all had lemonade and went about their business teeing off. The dad began walking back over and when he approached the table, he held up $5 and said, "Here's a test. This is to pay for the next group; let's see if you can keep it going. It may be a challenge, but I bet you can do it!". We told him that we sure would make it happen! So after that, instead of waiting for the golfers to approach her over at the table, Emi would take a tray of lemonade out as soon as they pulled up at the tee and tell them that a group before them had already paid for their lemonade. Many were caught off guard, but most continued to pay it forward. There were a total of ten groups the rest of the afternoon, and eight of them paid it forward...most with a dollar or two extra for Emilee. It was really beautiful to see such a good side of people!

The golfers out there are the most generous people I have ever seen. My faith in humanity has definitely been boosted.

Fernie and I (and everyone) are so proud of Emilee. It's hot as hell out there most days right now, but she continues to stick it out. YOU ROCK, EM!
That's all for this installment of blessings...I told you there was some good stuff!

PEACE
