As you can see, our new BBQ has a tank now! Fernie, Emi and I went over to Home Depot last weekend to see what we could find - with exactly $55. We found one for $32...but it had no propane in it. So we asked about the new ones and they were $49.99. So there would be a tank attached to the bbq now, but we wouldn't have anything to cook on it. We decided to go ahead and do that and work out how to get some meat and veggies later. At least once we got that stuff, the grill would be ready to go.
So we get to the checkout, tell the lady what we need and let her know we don't have an exchange because it's our first purchase. She begins to ring us up and says "oh shoot, I marked it as an exchange after you just told me it wasn't". Then she pauses for a couple of seconds and says "heck, I'm just gonna leave it that way", and she continued to ring it up and total it out. It ended up coming out to $21 and change! We asked her if she was sure a couple of times, and then thanked her many more. We now had a few dollars to get some food to cook on it and we were stoked.
We got just a bit of carne asada, salsa and fresh tortillas and some marinated chicken. Those were the best couple of meals we've had in a long time! When the grill was lit, it smelled absolutely fantastic, and that was before it even had food in there! Fernie cooked everything just right and it was all delicious. We have grilled a few times since then and not only does it taste so much better, it just feels healthier since we're not having to cook everything in a frying pan.
